Description

Specials constables come from all walks of life and volunteer their spare time for a minimum of 16 hours a month. They are highly trained and play an essential role in preventing, reducing and tackling crime.

Working as part of our Community Policing Teams, you'll help to serve and protect our diverse communities across Wiltshire and Swindon. 

You'll deal with different situations every day, working with the public in a role that makes a real difference to the local community.

Recruitment open: Monday 15 July 2019

Online registration and eligibility open: Monday 15 July 2019 until 11.55pm on Sunday 11 August 2019

Online Behavioural Styles Questionnaire: Wednesday 14 August 2019 until 12.30pm on Monday 19 August 2019

Online Situational Judgement Test:  Wednesday 21 August 2019 until 11.55pm on Sunday 29 August 2019

Information Evening (by invitation only to successful applicants):  Thursday 3 October 2019

Job related fitness test and Assessment day (by invitation only to successful applicants): 

Vetting & reference checks: Ongoing after assessment day

Medical assessments: Ongoing after assessment day

Training starts: 10 February 2020. Please only apply if  you are available to start training on this date. Training takes place over nine weeks at weekends and on one evening during the week.
